The terms cited are used regularly throughout Web development and design documentation. If you are starting a new website project then you will find these terms very helpful. This glossary's intention is to be relevant and beneficial to your understanding rather than be comprehensive.

Zine

Magazines that are published online instead of in print. Often cover very specific subjects and thus have very targeted readers.

Zip

A compressing method for computer files. Commonly used for compressing files before downloading over the Internet. Zip files contain vast amounts of information that has undergone compression to reduce the amount of space that the data take up. Zip files can be compressed (zipped) and decompressed (unzipped) using a computer program like WINZIP.

Zoom

An integrated software command that expands a window to fill the entire screen.
